One of Austin’s most popular event that occurs once a year is Austin City Limits Music Festival. It’s a two-weekend, three-day music festival that happens every October at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. This music festival brings music lovers from all different cities and states in order to come and see bands perform. It’s a huge event where there’s 8 different stages as well as about 140 different bands that perform. Lineups get released with headlining bands every May, and the lineup for this year is getting released this Tuesday!
At ACL, you go through security and once you walk into Zilker Park, you get a rush of exhilaration. The park is huge with many different areas that you can explore. There’s different decorated areas where you can take pictures with friends. There’s also a huge place filled with different food tents to choose from. Popsicles, burgers, pizza, vegan food and basically anything you can think of. There’s a lot of walking involved when going to different stages, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Also, bring empty water containers to stay hydrated with ACL’s hydration stations! You can choose to attend all three-days for one weekend or you can buy a certain day if you’re interested as well. Make sure to get enough rest before going all three-days though, I was super exhausted by the end of the weekend. I’ve only gone to ACL once, but depending on the lineup this year, I may attend again!
You can look at ACL’s website to find ticket prices as well as lineups if you’re interested in attending. I highly recommend it if you’re a music festival lover because it’s a huge music festival with a variety of bands. It’s overall a very exciting experience and an even more exciting experience when you have a huge group of friends with you! The only downside is the expensive ticket prices, but there are ways to volunteer where you can get wristbands for the festival. (shh it’s a secret way to get a free wristband) Make sure to check the lineup release on Tuesday!
